Cyril, of Sandbach, passed away peacefully on 19th December 2024 aged 95 years. He was the beloved Husband of the late Rita, much loved Dad to Michael and Louise, and the best Grandpa of Charlotte and Matt. The funeral service will take place at Birches Crematorium on Wednesday 8th January 2025 at 11am. Donations if desired to The Christie.
Cyril lived a very long and successful life.
He was known by very many people from different walks of life and he was admired greatly by those who knew him.
I write on behalf of all the Freemasons in Cheshire, in words which each of us will recognise, when I note that he lived respected and his passing is regretted.
As my predecessor as Deputy Provincial Grand Master, I can say without fear of contradiction that he was a giant figure in Cheshire Freemasonry and gave unparalleled service to our Order.
We were all the richer for his membership and leadership and we are correspondingly the poorer now that we shall see him no more.
May he rest in peace, and rise in glory.

I delivered parcels to Mr Acton on many occasions and always made time to stop and chat with him.
A true gentleman with such a positive outlook. Will miss his wave from his armchair when I enter his driveway.
Such a shame he has passed away.
